The magic of pole extensions
Simple, mild steel blocks called "pole extensions" bolted to the chuck face can be used to lift the part up providing clearance for through drilling, edge milling and back machining.These "pole extensions" can also be configured to facilitate part location, magnetic side grip for holding small parts and clearance for through machining.

Smaller, thinner workpieces can be accomodated with reservation, but need consult
NP70
70 series pole
Suited for workpieces min. 400mmx400mm. (16pole coverage)and min 20mm thick
NP series can be devided into two kinds according their holding power--NP50 standard and NP70 high power, NP50 standard is the default choice for most applications, NP70 high power is reserved for holding magnetically hard workpieces through air-gaps--i.e. high alloy or cast iron materials and /or holding on cast,forged or warped surfaces. |

Self shimming support
Self shimming pole extensions are the ultimated solution for holding rough or deformed parts.Cut in half at a 45º angle, these blocks conform to the shape of the part when the chuck is "off". Once the chuck is magnetized, they not only lock to the part, but also lock in position without deformation.Warped plated can be machined flat and stepped parts can be machined without warping. |
